Physical Condition: Water-stained at top, ragged edges, dirtied edges, but fair. Núm. 34 is in better shaped, fair. Núm. 38 is, save for slight foxing in good shape. Núm. 39 is rumpled, but legible. Números 41 & 42 are in good condition.

Donor Notes: Of generally Liberal line, it had supported Gen. José Hilario López. Supports Mallarino-Bidlack Treaty No. 36 has a sketch of the Musical history of Bogotá, from about 1810 to 1884, No. 39 is strongly anti-Jesuit, pokes fun at Pres. Mosquera (p.4), No. 41, p. 4 pokes fun at Irisarri & gibes at Gen. Mosquera for having favored him. No. 42, p.4, Un ensayo, describes a proposed drama featuring Masca, tirano de Coconuco, & among others, Susana, Emperatriz y tirana. Some 82 numbers, from Jan. 1848 to May 1849 attest top its success. - J.L.H.
