Summary: The author, writing under the pseudonym of Fabio, analyzes Senator Florentino González’s proposal for the adoption of a strict federalist model of government in Nueva Granada. Fabio offers a critique of González’s ideas and argues that the confederation model from the United States does not suit Nueva Granada’s interests.
Historical Notes: The Confederación Granadina was the union of the nine Colombian states from 1858 to 1861 under which they functioned as semi-sovereign entities.
