Summary: Domingo Lémos, the Head of the Archbishopric asked his parishioners on Easter Day to stop the violence that was occurring in the Cauca region (and spread nationwide) and prove that they still have Catholic principles. Lémos addresses the economic and social consequences of war.
Historical Notes: There were nine civil wars (two of them with Ecuador) in Colombia as well as many local uprisings, particularly during the federalist period (1858-1886).
