Summary: An invitation from José A. Bonilla, president of the Artisans' Society, to Antonio Arroyo. Bonilla invites Arroyo to become an honorary member of the Society and asks for a financial contribution to help build a library.
Historical Notes: The Artisans' Society formed in 1847 at the same time as other workers' organizations. Compromised of primarily middle class urban workers and businessmen, the Society became an important force in Colombian politics, supporting the nascent Liberal Party during elections.
