Historical Notes: This document likely comes from the of the Colombian Civil War (1860-1862) in which Tomás Cipriano de Mosquera led a rebellion against Mariano Ospina's Conservative-led government. Shortly after publication, Mosquera took over the presidency from July 18-1861-February 4, 1863. This war solidified the the deep and lasting divide between Liberals and Conservatives.
