Summary: Reproduction of some telegrams between the United Fruit Company and several Colombian officials that evince the monopolistic practices of the company.
Historical Notes: During the late nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century, the United Fruit Company established a network of political alliances with the governments of Central American and South American republics that allowed the company to build an empire based on the fruit industry.
